Joe grew up in Fort Worth, attended Boswell High School, graduated from University of Oregon and now resides in Granbury, TX.
Savage began playing guitar at age 25. Inspired by his love of literature, especially Hemingway, Kerouac, and Jack London, Joe began traveling the United States and Europe living in his car and backpacking. It’s during this time he got hooked on the works of Bob Dylan, The Beatles, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Roger Miller and The Doors
From 2008-2012, Joe primarily lived out of his backpack learning to write songs and play guitar while taking in the best scenery the western world has to offer. He returned to his hometown of Fort Worth in 2013 to pursue music as a career.
You can find him playing in bars, breweries and restaurants around the greater DFW metroplex. Savage sounds like Johnny Cash meets Jack Johnson, and plays fan favorites from the outlaw, 90s and current country eras, as well as plenty of classic rock and blues. Reach directly to book Joe at your place for a regular gig, private event, or party.
